Abolaji is an alumnus of McKinsey Executive Leadership Program (ELP) and currently an Executive MBA student at Said Business School, University of Oxford. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). He is an ICAN Prize Winner. He holds a master’s degree in finance from the University of Lagos and a degree in Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University.
He has over 16 years of professional experience in finance gleaned through working for big and medium-sized entities in the area of treasury management, financial reporting, corporate and personal tax management, financial advisory, business combinations, regulatory compliance, procurement, negotiation and leadership.
He commenced his professional career in May 2005 as a Staff Accountant with Pedabo Professional Services, a member firm of Morison International, and left as a Manager in May 2014. While in Pedabo, he was responsible for leading the audit unit of the firm, coaching and developing a team of over 20 professionals and managing the training arm firm wide.
In his quest for a well-rounded professional career, he joined Azura Power West Africa Limited in June 2014 as the Company’s’ pioneer Finance and Commercial Manager and rose to the position of Head of Finance in 2019. Still at Azura, he has gained extensive industry experience in complex financial reporting for project-financed power entities (first of its kind in Nigeria), negotiation, procurement, hedging and treasury management, budgeting, implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), multi-currency financial and project reporting to 16 different lenders across 12 countries and stakeholder management with local regulatory agencies.
He is happily married and blessed with two sons.
